Apparently it is kosher for North American Jews to express some discomfort with goings-on in Israel.   And one can do it with broad, sweeping consensus and support without fear of sanction or recrimination.

BUT.

The kosher critique remains kosher ONLY if…  (and please follow this recipe exactly or results may vary and be very disappointing…)

…it refers to something going on within Green-Line Israel and only if Haredi Jews are involved.

Here are three examples of kosher-critique-worthy business:

Chief rabbi: State does not belong to haredim

Israeli woman refuses ultra-Orthodox dictate to move to back of bus

Netanyahu: Exclusion of women in public spaces threatens fabric of Israeli society
